Four souls who dwelled within my mind,
A lifetime's thoughts, a heart entwined.
I searched for them, through joy and strife,
But on my final breath, they cut their life.
No shoulder offered, no gentle hand,
To guide me through the dark and final land.
I thought our bonds would forever stand,
But in my darkest hour, they vanished in the sand.
Their absence cut, like a winter's chill,
A sorrow deep, a heart that's still.
I wept for love, for friendship true,
But they, who once were dear, were nowhere to be found, anew.
And so I lay, alone and grey,
My final thoughts, a sorrowful sway.
For those who mattered most, were absent from my sight,
Leaving me to face the darkness, of that endless night.
