she was...
Upon the threshold stands her patient gaze,
Her shadow stretched by sun's unyielding might,
A beacon through the summer’s scorching haze,
She waits for me, her heart my guiding light.
Her sari clings, dampened by the day’s heat,
Yet still she smiles, though weary from her chore,
The noon’s harsh rays bow down before her feet,
Her love transcends what time or toil can score.
A jug of water rests within her hand,
Cool respite offered as my steps draw near,
No words are said, yet I can understand,
In her soft eyes, a world of love appears.
O mother, framed against the summer's glare,
Your tender watch, no heat could e’er impair.
