White For what felt like forever,
I'd only known the sweetness of your name.
As our fellow white and spotless brethren
Marched into the blind side of oblivion,
We remained unchanged,
Safe within the frigid doors of an unrelenting climate.
Our love stood unshaken by the flame.
I heard of the tales of the hell beyond these plastic walls,
But your brazen smile always drowned my fears beneath calm waves.
In a world adept to chaos,
Single moments are stretched to entire days.
But now, the water's reached my feet.
Lady Luck has danced to the rope's end,
Her fate hereby determined by hope's gale.
As silver wings mount for the unknown,
I know my heart is void of lingering wishes.
Unashamedly, I watch beyond fear's veil.
