White Shame on me, for I was blind
To see the truth of a loyal kind
My parents failed to show me right
The difference between dark and light
I wandered aimlessly, lost in deceit
Betrayed by those I thought were sweet
Abusers masked in friendly guise
Leaving me torn, with tear-filled eyes
Oh, the pain of learning late
The harsh lesson of love turned hate
But now I see, I'll break the chain
And teach my own to beware the same
Shame on me, but wiser now
I'll teach my children to disavow
The lies of those who seek to harm
And hold tight to love's gentle charm.
